Tahoe just passed the record for most snow ever in Tahoe. This past storm they got 14ft. its almost impossible to hike around in the backcountry.

There's tons of house on this road, but you just can't see them, there completely buried.

the morning after getting back from japan, I wanted to take full advantage of being near the the signal factory in Huntington beach CA. So I decided to build some snowboards.

We ride the things almost every day, but we never really get to see how there made and how much work goes into making them.

The first step is making the graphic, witch Blat wiped up for me real quick from his hotel. I chose to sublimate my board since I wanted to do it quick. Almost all the signal snowboards are sublimated and then hand painted

You put this stuff on it so it doesn't damage the top sheet

Then you cut some edges out and clamp
them Around the board with a little glue to hold them in place.

The next step is to cute a few sheets of glass out

I wanted my board to be a little stiffer, so I put a few strips of carbon in it

Then you bring all your materials over to the press

Here's the press

This is what holds it all together, the resin, it mixes from 2 different barrels to make a perfect mixture

After that it's pretty much just like making a sandwich with resin in between each layer. then you put it in the press, hit few switches and in 20 minutes take it out

After it cools down for I minute you cut it out. Tep cut it out for me so I wouldn't fuck it up or myself

Then you drill out the inserts

Grind that shit down and get it all nice and smooth

And then you got yourself a hand built snowboard

So far my trip to japan has been one of the most amazing trips of my life. The food the people the snowboarding. All just so amazing!!!

Sit down showers are pretty nice

Fish and rice for breakfast is so good

Soup curry, this was so fucking spicy.

We went to an after party for an on snow demo. There was more Australians then Japanese people. They entire bar also played a massive game of rock paper sizer for prizes. So funny

This ramen house was the best yet. So good.

How about a good old pizza sandwich with a hot dog in the middle. Or maybe some squid in a bag or fish in a bag, that stuff was right next to trail mix and peanuts. haha

Blat and myself have come very fond of saki. It comes in huge bottles and is cheap as shit. I invented a new drink called the lemon party. Saki and lemon soda. Very good and great for long drives or walks. you can legally drink in cars here and walking down the street. So awesome!!!

You would think this might be milk or orange juice. Nope.. It's saki

We've been doing lots of Sapporo drinking and netting. Great combo

for breakfast today we had kiwi, corn, salad, fried potato cheese wedges, an egg, bacon, tons of bread and clam chowder. The beat breakfast

After breakfast we went up and built a hip that one of the locals showed us. Then I took a sit down shower, eat some bacon in a bag, drank an alcoholic orange juice drink, then we fudge packed the car up and hit the road to Sapporo.

the entire staff at the place we stayed came out side to say goodbye to us as we drove away. It's just insane how nice everyone is here. Blows my mind.

12 hour plane ride, lots of whisky gingers.

As soon as we got of the plane it was instant culture shock

After our 12 hour flight to tokyo, it was time to get on another flight to sapporo.

No Ak 47s allowed on plans

The toilets are crazy with all the but hole cleaning stuff. Very interesting

Blat being hassled for his flash battery pack. They did not want him to fly with it

Finally made it to sapporo about 18 hours later and packed up the van and headed to our hotel. lots of traveling, but it's well worth it. Ill keep posting when I have Internet.

the powder tales from japan are no joke. we learned that on this day. 2 feet overnight. psyched that we finally got to experience a true japanese pow day

on our last snowboarding day we went to Iwatake. Local Japanese resort. No tourists go here usually, so it stays pretty peaceful most of the time. huge resort with sick terrain, and nobody goes there. we had that inside scoop though. Thanks Mackie and Iwatake for the tickets

first chair ride up. for 9am it looked tracked, but then we learned the secret. nobody goes on runs with trees on them, only open runs. some kind of rule or something

i followed that last trail and it led to me this thing. a kamoshika. they seriously look like mystical creatures and are pretty rare in most parts of Japan. part mountain goat, antelope, deer, bear, dog, cow, tiger, and wolf. we spent a good portion of the day trying to find and chase these things
and we saw some sweet snow sculptures

alaska for a day or two

found myself in alaska for a couple days

no shortage of back window decals here

went over to hupp's, blake was there he came up all the way from tahoe to film but got sick with the flu

apparently theres a pizza spot across the street. stacked lunch ramp

the next day we decided to go to the most miserable double line, post holing the entire way. only time you would need a jib split board

50 minutes later almost there

we usually hit this spot in may

and the dog jumped all over the jump we were building

had a real nice time trying to follow cam... "nothings working" ...miserable

so were on day 3 of our trip to japan with think thank. this place is so amazing. i have too many photos and not enough battery life to do a full post right now but i'll hook you guys up with a snow monkey photo.

a day in denver with the rat

we were in denver for a few days after sia and happened to get about an inch of snow in the city. terry ratzlaf was kind enough to show us around

the rat brought us to a pretty sick little rail
larson warmin' up on the drop in that we somehow scraped together
-6 degrees the whole day. ross dad-cammed through the whole time
larson switched his camber up mid session
looked like a friggin bomb went off in denver.
this picture is amazing in all aspects

we drove to sia for pretty much the whole tradeshow. for some reason i'm still in colorado but the tradeshow is well over. heres some pix
